Step1

Use a price guide such as the Kelley Blue Book to determine your car's approximate value (see Resources).

Step2

Search the Web for sites that will allow you to advertise your car.

Step3

Follow the site's instructions for placing an ad. You will be asked to provide your car's make, model, year, mileage, options, technical specifications, an asking price, contact information and possibly more.

Step4

Provide credit card information if the site charges a fee for posting an ad.

Step5

Place your ad on several sites to maximize the potential number of buyers. Potential buyers will contact you either directly or through the Web sites.
