Step 2
With the right sides together, pin the short edges of the fabric strips together to form a 6-yard strip of fabric.
Step 3
Sew the short sides of the strips together with a 1/4-inch seam allowance. Be sure to remove the pins as you sew. Cut the fabric strip to be 5 1/2 yards long.
Step 4
Press the seams open with an iron.
Step 5
With the right sides together, pin and sew the long edge of the strip together with a 1/4-inch seam allowance. Be sure to remove the pins as you sew. This will form a 5 1/2 yard fabric tube.
Step 6
Attach a safety pin to one end of the fabric tube.
Step 7
Turn the safety pin into the fabric tube.
Step 8
Manipulate the pin through the tube, pulling the end of the fabric into itself.
Step 9
When the pin reaches the other end of the fabric tube, continue pulling the fabric through until the fabric tube is right-side out.
Step 10
Attach a safety pin to one end of the fabric tube to keep it closed while you put the stuffing inside. Slide the other end of the fabric tube over a cardboard wrapping paper tube. Gather the fabric on the cardboard tube until the end is even with the pinned end of the fabric tube.
Step 11
Push the stuffing into the cardboard tube and use a long wooden stick or dowel to push it all the way through and into the fabric tube. As the stuffing fills the fabric tube, it will slowly come off of the cardboard tube. Continue filling the fabric tube this way until the entire fabric tube is filled with stuffing.
Step 12
Attach a safety pin to the other end of the fabric tube to keep the stuffing inside while you create the knot.
Step 13
Use the following step-by-step pictures to form the fabric tube into a knot.
Step 14
Once the knot is completed, insert one end of the tube into the other end.
Step 15
Use a hand sewing needle and thread to attach the ends together in the back of the knot pillow.
Place your new pillow on your bed or sofa, stand back and admire your handiwork.
