How to Get a Chase Home Mortgage

Chase is quickly becoming one of the largest banks and mortgage lenders in the U.S. and around the world. Many people seek to take advantage of their buying power and low interest rates. One of the great benefits of working with such a large lender is that their online services, including home mortgage loans, are extremely streamlined and user friendly.

Choose a Mortgage Type

Step1
Call 1-800-848-9136 if you don’t feel comfortable doing your banking online or just like the personal touch of a voice on the other end of the phone.
Step2
Go to Chase’s home page and sign up as a member (see link below).
Step3
Find the "Personal Lending" section and click the "Mortgage" link in that section.
Step4
Not sure what kind of loan you want? Click the “Find the loan options” link in the center of the page.
Step5
Complete the simple survey to find the loan terms that best fit your situation.
Step6
If you have less than stellar credit, click on the “Solutions for a range of credit types” link or call their toll free number at 1-800-277-6385.
Step7
Find a local Chase mortgage center by clicking on “Branch locator” found toward the right of the page.
Step8
Click on the loan type you want to investigate.
Step9
Click the "Mortgages" link found in the menu on the left vertical bar of the screen to learn about loan options for a variety of situations, to use the affordability calculator, the mortgage calculator or to schedule a phone conversation

Gather the Information

Step1
Collect the names and addresses of all employers for the last 2 consecutive years.
Step2
Gather your pay stubs for the previous 2 months.
Step3
Locate your W-2s and federal income tax returns for the previous 2 years.
Step4
Make copies of any profit and loss statements and a balance sheet for the past 2 years if self-employed.
Step5
Get duplicates of your Income tax returns, both for business and personal for the past 2 years if self-employed.
Step6
Provide any social security, disability, pension, investment dividends, child support, alimony, bonus and overtime pay and rental property income statements and stubs for the past 2 years.
Step7
Collect asset statements for the last 2 years that include the account names, addresses, balance and account number. Assets include checking and savings accounts, credit union accounts, mutual funds, 401k and retirement accounts, secured accounts like stocks, bonds, investments and life insurance, cars, trucks or recreational vehicles you hold the title to.
Step8
Locate debt statements and cancelled checks for the past 2 years that include the creditor name, address, balance, original balance and account number. Debts include mortgages, lease agreements, auto or recreational vehicle loans, student loans and credit cards.
Step9
Supply any legal document requiring you to make payments to previous creditors, alimony or child support.
Step10
Get a copy of the purchase agreement for the house or property. New construction loans require you to provide plans and specifications.
Step11
Include a copy of the listing sheet from your real estate agent.
Step12
List your addresses for the past 2 years.
Step13
Provide the social security numbers for each person qualifying for the loan.
Step14
Create a directory of the names and contact information of everyone involved in the matter, including attorneys and real estate agents.
Step15
Don't forget your application fee.

Apply for a Chase Home Mortgage Online

Step1
Begin filling out the home mortgage application by clicking the “Online mortgage application” link in the center of the screen.
Step2
Register with your name, birthday and email address.
Step3
Complete the step-by-step application process.
Step4
Click "Submit."

Tips & Warnings

  • You are not required to disclose child support or alimony payments unless you want the funds to be used to determine your debt to income ratio.
