Step 1

Take the item that you want to make the mold of and cover any holes with Scotch tape so that the latex material will not go down into the item.

Step 3

Paint a layer of liquid latex over the item and two inches around it onto the pan. Let it dry for about 40 minutes or until it is completely dry.

Step 4

Add a second and third layer and let dry. Add a forth layer and let it almost dry. You want it to still be sticky.

Step 5

Cover the item in a layer of first-aid gauze. This will help the mold to be more sturdy.

Step 6

Add four more layers of liquid latex on top of the gauze, letting each layer dry before adding a new one. Let the whole mold dry for 24 hours.

Step 7

Dust the outside of the mold with talc powder. Peel the latex mold off of the item. It should come off easily; if it is still sticking, let it dry for a few more hours before retrying.

Step 8

Dust the inside of the mold with talc powder. This keeps the mold from sticking to itself.
