Stainless steel items are usually sought after because of their long life and their low maintenance. Stainless steel gives a clean look and resists rusts and corrosion. Just like any other item, stainless steel can become dirty, smudged with fingerprints and grimy over the months and years of constant use. Keeping your stainless steel prop is relatively simple and can be accomplished in a few minutes.
Step 1
Wipe the prop using a clean cloth that has been dampened with warm, soapy water.

Step 2
Wipe the prop down once again using a clean, soft cloth dipped in white vinegar. Rinse the prop with clean water.
Step 3
Apply a commercial stainless steel cleaner to a damp, soft cloth, and rub in the direction of the grain lines on the prop.
Step 4
Rinse the prop completely with warm water to remove any residue that may have been left behind.
Step 5
Allow the prop to air dry, or wipe dry with a soft towel.
Step 6
Apply glass cleaner with a soft cloth to remove fingerprints from your stainless steel prop.
Step 7
Mix baking soda and water to form a paste. Polish the stainless steel using the baking soda and water mixture. Rinse and allow to dry.
Warning
Do not use bleach or ammonia on stainless steel. Do not clean stainless steel with a steel wool pad, which can scratch your stainless steel. When working with any chemical or cleaner, always wear protective gloves.
