Homemade potpourri will give your home a wonderful smell based around the dried flower, fruits, or essential oils used to create it. A wonderful way to create a holiday or winter vibe is to use dried apples in the potpourri. The scent will be very similar to an apple pie baking in the oven. Making the dried apple slices is simple and can be done quickly so you can go forth in creating the potpourri.
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 150 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 2
Slice an apple (or more, depending on how much potpourri you'd like to make) with a sharp knife in very thin slices.
Step 3
Spray a baking sheet with some flavorless cooking spray. Lay the thin apple slices over the baking sheet, making sure that they aren't touching.
Step 4
Sprinkle some cinnamon and nutmeg over the apple slices.
Step 5
Bake the apples for 6 hours. Allow them to cool completely before using in a potpourri.
