Fine tipped black markers
Feathers, yarn and other craft materials
Terra-cotta pots can be used for more than just planting flowers; they can also be used to create animal crafts. With some basic craft supplies, you can turn terra-cotta pots into eye-catching decorations. Use them as ornaments around your own home or give them as unique and clever gifts. Make the terra-cotta animals on your own, or enlist the help of your children.
Step 1
Turn the terra-cotta pot upside down. Hot glue the wooden ball onto the bottom of it. Set aside to dry.

Step 2
Paint the pot and the wooden ball. Use a color that corresponds to the animal you are creating -- pink paint for a pig, brown paint for a turkey. Set aside to dry.
Step 3
Draw a face on the wooden ball. Use fine tipped black markers to make eyes, a nose and a mouth that suits the animal you've chosen to create.
Step 4
Add decorative accents. Further embellish the terra-cotta pot to make it look more like the chosen animal. Glue feathers on the back of a turkey. Tie a bell on a piece of yarn and place it around the neck of a cow.
Warning
Supervise young children who are making this craft to avoid burns from the hot glue gun.
