Llama wool produces a blanket that is warm and light. Llama hair is expensive , so when the llama wool is woven into a llama wool blanket you will pay more for the item. If your llama wool blanket ever gets dirty, don't just throw it in the washer. The llama wool is delicate and should be washed by hand. Hand washing a llama wool blanket only takes a few minutes, but you need to be gentle with the blanket

Step 1

Fill the tub halfway full with warm water. Mix a small amount of dish soap into the water until it is full of suds. Dish soap is the most neutral pH soap and is best for the fragile wool fibers.

Step 2

Submerge the llama wool blanket into the soapy water. Gently rub the llama wool blanket against itself to remove any stains. Avoid wringing the wool blanket as that will damage the weaving.

Step 3

Empty the tub. Hold the llama wool blanket under the shower head until the water you rinse through it is suds free.

Step 4

Lay the llama wool blanket flat on a clean surface such as a table or floor. Press dry towels against the llama wool blanket until you get most of the water out.

Step 5

Lay the llama wool blanket flat over a screen or on a bed and allow it to air dry.
