Basket themes for raffles or auctions include movies, food, the spa, sports and even the lottery. Make a lottery basket for a charity auction or even as a gift. Include lottery scratch-offs as well as lottery tickets. Decorate your basket simply so that those who are bidding on it will be able to see exactly what is in the basket. Layer a couple pieces of cellophane over the basket so that its contents can be seen but it still looks like a gift.

Step 1

Make a ticket scratch-off bouquet by attaching scratch-offs to colorful plastic card holders. The scratch-offs act like flowers while the card holders act like stems. Either wrap the card holders with a ribbon like a flower bouquet or stick the card holders into a pot full of flower foam. Decorate the foam by gluing fake moss to it to make it look like an actual pot.

Step 2

Include a variety of lottery tickets from your state's lottery and colorful scratch-offs. Include a book on how to play the lottery or a sheet on what the odds are and literature on how to increase your odds.

Step 3

Make a lottery tree. Place fake tree branches into a container filled with Styrofoam and decorative rocks or gems. Punch a hole at the top of each scratch-off or lottery ticket and thread decorative ribbon through each one. Tie the ribbons to the branches of the tree.

Tip

Keep track of the value of the basket so you can include this on the bidding sheet.

Check your state's lottery rules before making a lottery basket, including age restrictions.
