"Hi, this is Matt on behalf of Expert Village and today we are going to make Pepper Steak and Pork over a bed of rice. OK, when I was growing up and I was learning how to cook I could not stand to make rice. Every time I made rice I would wing it, it just turned out wrong, never tasted right, it was too soggy, it was too hard, burned it on the bottom, did not know how many cups of water or how many cups of rice, it was just a mess. You know what I did? I just went and got the five minute bags of rice that you just drop in the water and in five minutes it is done. But then I did some research and I found out, because it frustrated me, and I found out that using the bags of rice, the little instant five minute rice bags, they didn't taste as good as the regular rice. So, I just said to myself, you know what, I am just going to keep trying and keep trying until I made rice perfectly and when I figured out and also looked around, looked on the internet, and I found out how to make rice perfectly. So, don't be scared to make rice. Absolutely, it is easy to make rice if you follow these rules. So let's make some rice right now. OK, let us start with turning on the stove. We are going to utilize two burners, our main burner is going to be set on high, like so, and our rear burner is going to be set on low, and you will find out why in a few minutes. So our pot now is on the main burner which is on high and we are going to add two cups of water for every one cup of rice. So I have three cups of rice so we are going to add six cups of water, two, three, four, five, six. OK, we are going to throw in a little oil just so the grains don't sick together, a little bit of salt for taste and we are going to add in our rice, three cups of rice. Now we are going to wait for this rice to come to a boil. OK, so now that the rice is boiling we are going to immediately take it off of the high burner and put it on the burner that is low. And then, cover it with a tight lid, make sure the lid is really tight because you don't want the steam to escape. That is very important, make sure that the lid is very tight on your pot, make sure to let it simmer for 45 to 50 minutes."
