Silverware can become scratched up over time, and removing those scratches can help your silverware last much longer without rusting or becoming tarnished. The good news is, you can easily remove scratches from silverware using two household ingredients and water!

Step 1

Make a paste by combining the baking soda and Castile soap.

Step 2

Dab a little of the cleaning paste onto a clean cloth and work it into the silverware. Wipe the paste on with the grain of the silverware, typically in an up and down motion.

Step 3

Rinse each piece of silverware in cold water, making sure to remove all of the cleaning paste.

Use a clean, soft cloth to polish each piece of silverware, going with the grain again. Your silverware will look like new and last much longer if you polish it at least once every few months.
