DIY No-Sew Braided Pillow Cover

One of life's simplest pleasures is getting comfy and settling in to read a good book or to watch a favorite show. Cozy pillows are a must-have item to get the most out of your relaxation, but they can be super expensive, and it can be difficult to find just the right colors to go with your decor. Have no worries – we're here to help you create some low-cost pillows, even if you don't know how to sew. This no-sew pillow cover is simple enough to make that you can even change up your pillowcases for any mood or season.

Things You'll Need

  • Two 18 x 18-inch pieces of fleece

  • 16 x 16-inch pillow form

  • Sharp scissors

Step 1

Place both pieces of fleece together with the wrong sides together and the edges matching. Use a sharp pair of scissors to cut 2-inch squares out of each corner.

Step 2

Cut through both layers and cut 1-inch x 2-inch strips on all four sides.

Step 3

Fold over each strip and snip a small hole in the center.

Step 4

Place the pillow form between the fleece.

Step 5

Start in the center of one of the sides and thread the top strip of fleece through the bottom strip of fleece. Thread the next bottom strip of fleece up through that top strip and then, thread the top strip of fleece through the bottom strip. Repeat these steps working from right to left until you get all the way around the pillow.

Step 6

When you get all the way around the pillow, you'll have one strip left. Cut that in half lengthwise and tie it to the strip next to it in a knot.
