Ah, summertime: It's a song, it's a season and it brings us back to the easygoing days of our youth. Heading to the pool or the beach to relax, swim and cool off can be so wonderful and healing. To make your beach trip even more delightful, this DIY tote transforms from a bag to a towel in seconds. Throw in a book, a snack and a cold drink and when you get to the water, simply unload and unfold. Your towel will be ready to keep you comfy and dry. When it's time to head home, just fold up your towel tote, load up your things and away you go.

Things You'll Need
Beach towel
Hand towel or dish towel
Straight pins
Step 1
Open the beach towel and place it right side up. Fold the hand towel in half with the wrong sides together. Place the folded edge of the hand towel in the center of the short side of the beach towel. Pin along the sides and along the folded edge.
Step 2
Pin the strap 4 inches in from each side of the hand towel.
Step 3
Sew around the three pinned edges of the hand towel. You'll be sewing through the beach towel too.
Step 4
Attach the straps with Liquid Stitch. Let it dry for 24 hours before you use the tote.
Step 5
When the straps are dry, you can fold it up. Reach in between the beach towel and the hand towel and pull out the bottom corners of the tote to turn it inside out.
Step 6
Fold in the sides of the towel. Fold the towel toward the tote until you get to the opening and then tuck the towel into the tote.
Now you have a fun, two-sided tote to take to the beach that will not only hold your towel but also a book, a snack, some sunnies and flip-flops.
