Green Pea Hummus
Things You'll Need
15 oz. canned chickpeas, drained
1 1/2 cups thawed frozen peas, plus more for topping
2 Tbsp. tahini
3 Tbsp. lemon juice
2 garlic cloves, roughly chopped
1/4 cup olive oil, plus more for topping
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Tip
To quickly thaw frozen peas, place them in a colander under hot running water.
1. Blend the ingredients
Add all of the ingredients to a food processor or blender.
Puree until combined. You can make the hummus as smooth or chunky as you'd like.
Tip
Pause occasionally to scrape down the sides with a spatula. This will ensure that all of the ingredients are fully blended.
2. Serve in a bowl
Transfer the hummus to a bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and top with extra peas, ground black pepper, and fresh parsley if you'd like.

Tip
The ingredients included in this list are just suggestions, so feel free to curate the board to your liking. Ideas for other foods include regular cauliflower, broccoli, broccolini, sliced bell peppers, and daikon radish. No matter which items you choose, aim to include a variety of colors so the board looks bright and seasonal.
1. Arrange the board
Place the bowl of green pea hummus on a wooden cutting board. Follow with long produce, such as carrots, mini cucumbers, and celery stalks. These items will create "borders" to hold the smaller foods.
Fill the spaces with flat items, such as crackers and pita bread.
Add small and chopped vegetables to the spaces. Cucumber and radish slices are great for filling awkward spaces, especially along the edges.
2. Add herbs and flowers
To transform your hummus board into a seasonal masterpiece, garnish everything with fresh herbs and edible flowers. These items can be tucked into crevices or between larger foods.
Tip
Examples of edible flowers include marigolds, mums, dandelions, daisies, pansies, and nasturtium. You might be able to find edible flowers in the produce section of your grocery store. Otherwise, you can use flowers from your own garden. Avoid using flowers meant for bouquets or decoration, as these are often sprayed with pesticides and aren't safe to eat.
