Things You'll Need

  • 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter

  • 2 Tbsp. cocoa powder

  • 1 or 2 Tbsp. chocolate chips

  • 4 Tbsp. all-purpose flour

  • 2 Tbsp. sugar

  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder

  • 2 Tbsp. milk

  • 1/4 cup chocolate frosting

  • 1 Tbsp. mini M&M's

Tip

If you'd like a more traditional cosmic brownie look, use rainbow candy-coated chips instead of mini M&M's. You can also use regular rainbow sprinkles if that's what you have on hand.

1. Combine the butter and cocoa powder

Add the butter to a small microwave-safe dish, like a glass or ceramic ramekin. Microwave for 20 to 30 seconds or until the butter is completely melted.

Add the cocoa powder and chocolate chips and then mix until combined.

2. Add the remaining ingredients

To the butter mixture, add the flour, sugar, baking powder, and milk. Stir until the flour is fully incorporated.

3. Microwave the brownie

Heat the brownie in the microwave for 1 minute on high. If the brownie is not fully set, heat for another 30 seconds. Let the brownie sit until it's mostly cooled.
