Ready in less than eight minutes, this recipe yields just enough apple cinnamon crisp for one person. What's more, it "bakes" in the microwave, so you won't have to bother preheating the oven. All you need to do is soften the apples in the microwave, add a cinnamon crumb topping, and heat everything in the microwave once more. The result is a sweet and spiced dessert that tastes just like fall.

1. Mix the apple and butter

In a bowl, toss the apple and butter together.

Tip

You can do this step in the ramekin in which you plan to cook the apple crisp, but it might be difficult to mix the ingredients. It's easier to do it in a bigger bowl.

2. Heat the apples

Transfer the apple and butter mixture to a 10-ounce microwave-safe ramekin.

Heat the apples in the microwave on high for 1 minute. If the apples aren't soft and easily pierced with a fork, repeat for another 30 seconds.
