Things You'll Need
5 x 4-in. paper triangle pattern
Orange felt
Tan felt
Lace ribbon
White pom poms
Burgandy felt
Black felt
3 shades of brown felt
Twine
Ribbon
Sharp scissors
Hot glue gun
1. Create a paper pattern
Grab a sturdy piece of paper and sketch out an isosceles triangle that's 4 inches wide at the base and reaches 5 inches to the peak. Cut out the triangle.
2. Make the pumpkin pie slices
Using the paper pattern, cut out four triangles each from the tan and orange felt. Stack an orange triangle on top of a tan one, then bond them together with hot glue.
For that perfect pie crust look, add a strip of crocheted lace across the top, and don't forget the pièce de résistance — a fluffy white pom pom to mimic a dollop of whipped cream.
3. Make the cherry pie slices
Cut four triangles of tan and burgundy felt. Cut 24 narrow strips of tan felt to make a classic lattice crust. Hot glue a burgundy triangle over each tan triangle.
Weave the tan strips into a woven lattice on top of each pie piece, securing them with hot glue. Add a strip of crocheted lace across the top.
4. Make the pecan pie slices
Cut four black triangles for the pie base. Cut 1/2-inch strips from three shades of brown felt.
Fold each strip lengthwise, holding the sides together with glue.
Once all the folded strips have set and cooled, cut the strips into 3- or 4-inch pieces.
Fold each piece into thirds, gluing them to form adorable little "pecans."
Glue a strip of crocheted lace along the top of each black triangle to make the crusts. Arrange an assortment of pecans over the remaining area, and glue them in place.
5. Attach pie slices to twine
Cut a piece of twine that's about a foot longer than the spot where your garland will hang. Hot glue each pie piece to the twine, leaving an inch or so between slices. This space is perfect for adding ribbons, wooden beads, or even a cheeky plastic fork — whatever tickles your fancy! Alternate the types of pie slices in the desired order.
Tip
Be sure to leave some loose twine at each end to use for hanging the garland. You might find it helpful to lay out all of the pie pieces along the length of the twine before gluing them in place.
