DVDs are an effective storage device because they are less susceptible to failure than hard drives. Their reliability results from their lack of moving parts. DVDs can hold up to 4.7 GB of data. DVD+R discs are writable DVDs that can only be written to once. That means you cannot delete any data from a DVD+R disc. Before writing data to a DVD+R, you should first prepare the disc by formatting it. Formatting the disc will determine its compatibility with various devices.
