Suspenders were once worn by men in lieu of wearing a belt, but also as a fashion statement. You can make a pretend pair of suspenders that appear to hold up your pants. Your "fake" suspenders are made from items acquired at a crafts store. Household supplies are needed as well.
Step 1
Place one 2-foot strips of linen horizontally on a work surface. Place a dab of white glue at one end of the strip. Place a button on the glue and press it down. Let the glue set for an hour. Repeat this procedure with the other 2-foot strip of linen.

Step 2
Rotate the two strips of linen so they face you vertically, with the button end closest to you. Separate the two strips so one is at your left side, and the other at your right.
Step 3
Place a 1-foot strip of linen vertically between the two other strips. Place the far end of the strip to your left, on the far end of the strip at the middle. Place the far end of the strip to your right, on the far end of the strip at the middle. Sew the three ends together with a needle.
Step 4
Turn the strips over. Place a piece of double-stick tape on the ends of the strips with buttons attached to them. Place a piece of double-stick tape on the end of the strip of linen, opposite the ends sewn together.
Step 5
Turn the strips over. Place the end of each 2-foot strip with tape attached to it against your waist, to the left and right of your belly button.
Step 6
Loop the two strips over your shoulder. Press the end of the strip with the double-stick tape attached to it to the small of your back.
