Making a bottle costume is not difficult, but it does require some forethought and a little planning. The hardest part about a bottle costume is transforming your body into a cylindrical shape for the costume. You can do this by wrapping two hula hoops in fabric to create a cylindrical costume to wear as the base for your bottle costume. Make a baby bottle, water bottle, beer bottle or soda bottle using the same cylinder base for each costume.
Step 1
Measure the length from the shoulders to the knees. Measure around the circumference of the hula hoops.

Step 2
Cut a rectangle of fabric 1 inch longer than the circumference measurement and 4 inches longer than the length measurement.
Step 3
Sew the two short sides of the fabric rectangle together.
Step 4
Fit the hula hoop over the fabric tube. Fold the top edge of the fabric over the hula hoop and pin with straight pins. Repeat for the bottom of the fabric. Sew the fabric around the hula hoops. You will probably have to sew the seam by hand.
Step 5
Cut two arm holes into either side of the costume about 2 inches down from the top of the hula hoop.
Step 6
Turn the tube inside-out to hide the seams. Decorate the tube with the desired information.
Tip
Make a baby bottle by stuffing a 12-inch section of orange pantyhose with polyester stuffing to make a nipple. Sew the nipple to a cloth beanie hat. Decorate the bottle body with white for milk and write ounce markers onto the bottle. Make a soda or beer bottle by punching a hole into either side of a aluminum pie plate. Thread elastic string between the holes. Wear the pie plate upside-down like a hat over your head to represent the metal bottle cap. Decorate the costume body with the appropriate colors. Use brown to represent soda and yellow or gold for beer.
