Shrinking a pair of khaki pants may be your best strategy if you purchased them too big, had a recent weight loss, inherited a pair from a larger friend or simply stretched a pair out by wearing them a lot. Khaki fabric is all natural and made from cotton, which makes it especially easy to shrink. With a few basic tips, you can shrink your khakis and slip on a pair of pants that fit.
Step 1
Wash khaki pants in the hottest wash cycle you have on your machine. The hot water will help shrink the cotton fibers.

Step 2
Dry the khaki pants on the highest heat possible for about 20 minutes.
Step 3
Remove the pants from the dryer and check them to make sure they are completely dry. They should come out of the dryer feeling hot.
Step 4
Repeat the process if they have not shrunk to your liking.
