Things You'll Need
Washcloth
Liquid makeup remover
Mild soap
Alcohol
Washing machine
Paper towels
Stain remover
One of the best parts of Halloween is putting on makeup and dressing up like someone or something else. Like stage makeup, Halloween makeup is full of color additives that may wash off your face, but stain your clothes. If ghoulish makeup smears and smudges your clothes, use some laundry room tricks to make the stain a ghostly memory.
Step 1
Lay the clothing on a flat surface and find an inconspicuous area to pour a little liquid makeup remover or rubbing alcohol on the stain. Let it sit for about 10 minutes. Use a mild soap instead of rubbing alcohol or makeup remover if the fabric changes color or fades.

Step 2
Wet a washcloth and moisten the area of the stain. Once the whole area is damp, take a paper towel and dab the makeup stain. Repeat until no more makeup comes off on the paper towel.
Step 3
Spray the residual stain with stain remover. Wash in the washing machine with warm water on a gentle cycle. If the stain remains, retreat and wash again.
Tip
Put your costume on before you apply your makeup to avoid getting makeup on your costume. Wrap a towel around your shoulders while applying makeup or colored hairspray to minimize the risk of staining your clothing.
