An old-fashioned, worn-out bathtub can make an entire bathroom lose appeal. The bathtub is one of the central fixtures in a bathroom, so keeping it fresh and new is crucial. You do not have to be a professional to renew your bathtub’s appearance; you just need the right products and attitude. Once you get your bathtub looking new again, you’ll want to keep it that way.
Step 1
Sprinkle the tub with a bathroom-cleaning product and let it sit for about an hour. Scrub the bathtub with a coarse sponge or pad. Go over the bathtub as many times as necessary.

Step 2
Apply a rust-removing product to the tub. Allow it to sit according to the label's directions. Rinse the tub thoroughly with hot water. Apply the product again if the stains are not completely removed.
Step 3
Pour vinegar on the stained areas of the bathtub. Fill the tub with hot water. Pour a little more vinegar into the water. Allow the water and vinegar to sit in the tub overnight. Drain the tub. Scrub the tub and rinse it several times.
Tip
Install a bathtub liner if your tub is severely marred and damaged. Bathtub liners make your tub look new, because they conceal all scratches and wear. Liners are cost-effective and easy to use. Acrylic liners are long-lasting and resistant to damage from constant use.
Warning
