Stainless steel sinks are both aesthetically appealing and durable. They are fairly easy to maintain but can be susceptible to spotting if proper care is not taken. Mineral deposits from water can accumulate on stainless steel, and harsh chemicals can leave damage spots. You can decrease or eliminate the likelihood of these spots by regularly cleaning your stainless steel sink with recommended products and avoiding caustic chemicals.
Step 1
Rinse your sink completely after each use.

Step 2
Clean your stainless steel sink with a stainless steel approved abrasive cleaning agent at least once a week.
Step 3
Thoroughly dry the sink after rinsing to reduce mineral deposits that may form from tap water.
Step 4
Mix a solution of 1 tsp baking soda in 1 cup of warm water. Apply the mixture with a clean sponge using small circular motions. This formula helps remove spots and adds extra shine.
Step 5
Dampen a clean sponge with club soda and wipe your sink using small circular motions to help remove spots and add shine.
Warning
Do not use rubber mats in your stainless steel sink. Moisture can accumulate between the mat and the sink bottom and encourage mineral deposits, which can leave spots.
Do not allow bleach water to set in the sink for an extended period of time. This can damage the sink and cause unsightly spots.
