Things You'll Need
String or twine
Plastic beads
Key chain clip
You can keep track of your golf score quickly and easily by making your own beaded golf stroke counter. With a simple technique and a few supplies, you can make a beaded golf stroke counter for yourself or to give away as a gift or a door prize at your next golf outing. Beaded golf stroke counters also make great row counters for knitters and crocheters.
Step 1
Cut your twine or string and loop it onto your key chain using a slip knot. You should have two lengths of string hanging down from your key chain now, approximately one foot long.

Step 2
String your beads onto your twine. Take one length of twine and loop it through the bead from the right to left, and loop the other piece of twine from left to right. Continue to add beads in this manner, alternating the stringing direction with every bead (so string A enters right to left on bead one, then left to right on bead two, and so on).
Step 3
Leave extra space to pull down the beads for counting, approximately one inch of string on either side. Then tie a knot in the bottom of the string to secure the beads. When you count your strokes, you will pull down one bead at a time, leaving a space above the last bead so you know which stroke you're on. When you're ready to start over, simply slide all of your beads up to the top again.
Tip
Choose beads that are large enough to hold two pieces of your string simultaneously. Plastic pony beads work well for this, along with macrame twine or hemp.
