Kitchen Aid dishwashers were designed to use a rinse agent to help dry dishes spot free and more efficiently. The rinse agent dispenses during the final rinse. Many of the dispensers in modern Kitchen Aid dishwashers are adjustable. If you have hard water in your area, you may need to increase the amount of rinse agent that is dispensed to combat the hard water.
Step 1
Locate the rinse aid dispenser in your dishwasher. Most are located inside on the door near the soap dispensers.

Step 2
Unscrew the cap to the rinse dispenser. Pour in the recommended amount of rinse aid. This is normally about half a bottle of the commercial rinse aids.
Many Kitchen Aid Dishwashers have a gauge where you can see how full or empty the rinse aid dispenser is.
Step 3
Reinstall the rinse aid dispenser cap by screwing back into place.
Step 4
Wash your dishes in your Kitchen Aid dishwasher as per manufacturer's instructions.
Tip
Rinse aid dispensers normally require filling about once a month. Schedule a day to check and fill your rinse aid dispenser.
