Things You'll Need
1 skein 100% cotton yarn
Size K crochet hook
Scissors
Are you looking for a pattern for a crocheted dishcloth? This one is easy, quick, AND cute! It works up quickly, and is easy enough for the beginner crocheter. It is done with a variation of the single crochet stitch, and can be made to any desired size without changing the pattern. No counting is required so you can easily set it down and find your place again.
Step 1
Using your size K crochet hook and 100% cotton yarn, loosely chain 22 stitches or to desired width.

Step 2
Skipping the first chain from the hook, single crochet (SC) in second chain from hook and in each chain across. Chain 1 (CH1), turn.
Step 3
Work second row by skipping the first SC and working a SC in the second chain from hook, working in the front loop of the stitch only. SC in the next stitch, working in the back loop only. Alternate working single crochets in front and back loops across the row, front, back, front, back, etc.
Step 4
CH 1, turn, and repeat the second row until your piece is approximately 6.5 inches long.
Step 5
You can finish off your dishcloth here, or you can give it a more finished look by single crocheting around each side, placing 3 single crochets in the corners.
Tip
Be sure your ends are knotted tightly, then weave loose ends through the dishcloth an inch or so before cutting the yarn. Wash your dishcloth before using - it may shrink a little since it is made from 100% cotton.
