Fresh flowers
Horseshoe-shaped wreaths are traditionally used as a display at a memorial service, and created using fresh flowers. Although you could purchase a horseshoe wreath from a florist's shop, they can often be very costly. One alternative is to create your own horseshoe wreath using fresh flowers and a few craft supplies that can be purchase from any craft or art supply store.
Step 1
Dip a foam florist horseshoe into and out of water. This will enable fresh flowers to stay fresh for a longer period of time. If the form is soaked too long, it will drip when hung on the wall.

Step 2
Cut the stems off of fresh flowers, leaving about 4 inches of stem remaining.
Step 3
Starting at one end, insert a flower into the foam horseshoe.
Step 4
Add another flower as before, inserting it close to the first flower. Make sure the flowers are packed tightly enough the completely cover the foam base.
Step 5
Repeat this pattern until you reach the top of the horseshoe.
Step 6
Insert a flower into the foam on the other end of the horseshoe.
Step 7
Continue adding flowers until you reach the top again. By this point the wreath will be full of flowers.
Step 8
Twist florist wire around the top of the wreath to hang it up.
