Things You'll Need
Baking soda
Toothbrush
Landry detergent
Medium bowl
Wash a thong as you would other laundry. Unless the care tag states otherwise, use a washing machine. Baking soda safely removes stains and odors from the fabric. It also brightens the colors. Pre-treating the item with baking soda results in a cleaner thong. Regardless of whether the thong is made from cotton, lace, satin or other material, it needs washed after each wear. Washing it with similar items is most efficient.
Step 1
Wet the thong with water.

Sprinkle a thin layer of baking soda on the crotch or any stained areas.
Step 3
Lightly scrub the baking soda into the fabric with a toothbrush.
Step 4
Put the thong into the washing machine with other clothing. Add laundry detergent. If hand washing, wash in a sink or bowl with the detergent. Rinse.
Step 5
Dry in the dryer if it's made of cotton. If not, lay on a flat surface to dry.
