Step 2
Soak the rag in warm soapy water and place over the Gorilla Glue to soften the glue if you choose soapy water to remove the Gorilla Glue. Leave the rag over the glue for a few minutes so the water and soap have time to soften the glue.
Step 3
Rub acetone on the Gorilla Glue, if you choose acetone as your method of removal, and give the acetone a few minutes to loosen the glue from the Formica. Wipe any excess acetone away with a rag.
Step 4
Use a gentle scrub brush to completely remove the Gorilla Glue. If the Gorilla Glue does not easily lift from your Formica, repeat the steps until the glue is soft and easy to remove.
Step 5
Gently wipe the Formica with warm soapy water to remove traces of the soap or acetone.
Warning
According to The Laminex Group, avoid letting acetone seep into the edges of your Formica countertop because the acetone can dissolve the Formica glue. Always allow good ventilation when working with chemicals like acetone.
