These pieces of art are great for gift giving as well as show pieces. Taking proper care of your chainsaw carvings can help to ensure that they last for a long time. These care tips will help to make the task easier.
Step 1
Wash your chainsaw carving with water and a mild detergent. Pour 1/2 gallon of water into a bucket and add 1 tsp. of mild dishwashing detergent.

Step 2
Dip a rag into the soapy water and use it to wash away dust and other debris from the surface of the chainsaw carving. Rinse with water and place it on a clean surface away from the sun to air dry.
Step 3
Spray two squirts of furniture polish onto a clean cloth. Apply the polish to the carving in a circular motion until it is applied evenly.
Tip
Keep your chainsaw carvings looking fresh by applying polyurethane to the surface once a year.
Warning
Do not keep your chainsaw carvings in direct sunlight to prevent drying of the wood and cracking.
