Safe Key
Drill
1/8-inch drill bit
1/4-inch drill bit

A key lock safe can be a great thing to own if you want to protect items such as important documents or valuables. A key lock safe is simple to open if you have the key. The problem with key locks is that keys can easily be misplaced or lost, leaving you without access to your precious belongings. Whether you have your key or not, there is usually a way to open up a key lock safe.
Opening With a Key
Step 1
Insert key into the lock.

Turn key until you hear a click.
Step 3
Open safe door and retrieve your belongings.
Opening Without a Key
Step 1
Insert 1/8-inch drill bit into your drill.
Step 2
Drill about 1 inch directly into the top of the lock cylinder.
Step 3
Remove drill from lock.
Step 4
Drill about 1 inch directly into the bottom of the lock cylinder.
Step 5
Remove drill from lock.
Step 6
Replace 1/8-inch drill bit with 1/4-inch drill bit. Drill into the same hole that you drilled into at the top of the lock cylinder. This time drill about 2 inches.
Step 7
Remove drill from lock.
Step 8
Drill into the same hole that you drilled into at the bottom of the lock cylinder. This time drill about 2 inches.
Step 9
Inset flat-head screw driver into the lock and turn. If you damaged the pins inside the lock, your screwdriver will get it open.
Step 10
Call a locksmith if the drill did not work.
