Things You'll Need
Magnetic name tag fastener
Craft magnet (optional)
Name tags (purchase or make your own)
Glue
Magnet name tags are perhaps more practical name tags than traditional tags that use safety pins to secure the tag on an item of clothing. Rather than causing potential damage to clothes, magnetic name tags use powerful magnets to hold the name tag on the shirt or top through the fabric itself. Craft magnets are also available should you wish to use your name tags on lockers or refrigerators only. Purchase name tags on name tag sites or create your own.
Step 1
Purchase magnetic name tag fasteners on name tag websites or craft supply stores. Such magnets come in a variety of sizes and shapes, including square and circular, enabling you to find the type of magnet best suited for your name tags. Craft magnets in assorted shapes and sizes are also available in most craft stores and on craft sites should you be making a name tag for a locker or refrigerator as opposed to clothing.

Step 2
Purchase blank name tags on name tag or similar websites. Decorate and write on them as you see fit or make your own name tags. Homemade name tags can be made out of plastic with the name drawn or glued on, or made from thick cardboard or laminated paper.
Step 3
Glue the name tag to the magnetic name tag fastener or craft magnet. Allow to dry and use accordingly.
Tip
Customizing name tags on name tag sites and then gluing them to magnetic name tag fasteners or craft magnets is another option.
