You can use hot glue icicles to embellish a gingerbread house.

Many people make gingerbread houses during the winter holidays out of graham crackers and candies. If you are thinking of making a gingerbread house, you can create one out of craft materials, like foam and hot glue, which can be displayed every year. One way to make a permanent gingerbread house even more exciting is to use a hot glue gun to create realistic-looking icicles on the edges of the roof. You can use this technique on other objects as well, such as snow globes.

Step 2

Plug the hot glue gun into an electrical outlet and allow it to heat for 10 minutes.

Step 3

Place the object you want to add icicles to onto a flat surface, such as a table or a desk.

Step 4

Squeeze a dollop of hot glue onto the object, then decrease your squeezing as you slowly pull the gun away from the object. This will cause the glue to cool in an icicle formation on the object.

Step 5

Repeat this process until you have added as many icicles as you like to enhance your project.
