Things You'll Need
Medium gauge florist wire
Wire cutters
Needle nose pliers
"The horse, the horse; the symbol of surging potency and power of movement, of action," states noted English novelist D. H. Lawrence. Use an outline of a horse to create a symbol of power and action with a wire sculpture. Practice making wire sculptures with soft soldering wire to get a feel for bending and creating shapes with thin metal. Progress up to a harder or thicker gauge of wire as you become more confident in your skills to create your masterpiece. With careful bending and shaping, you can create a horse sculpture out of wire to impress your friends and family.
Step 1
Print out a picture of a full body profile of a horse. Trace over the outline with a black marker or pencil. This outline is your template for your wire horse sculpture.

Step 2
Cut 2 yards of wire with the wire cutters.
Step 3
Begin bending the wire, starting around the head or muzzle area of the horse. Use the pliers or your fingers to twist the wire into loops or circles to create muscle definition. Bend the wire at sharp angles to create sharp outlines of ear, tail and hoof shapes.
Step 4
Wind the end of the wire to the beginning piece of the wire or bend it to create another part of the outline. Snip extra wire with the wire clippers.
Tip
Wear sturdy gloves to protect your hands from getting injured.
Warning
Always wear protective eye wear to keep the wire from poking your eyes.
