White vinegar

Rubbing alcohol

Disinfecting spray
Vinyl cleaner
If your vinyl couch has been in storage for awhile or it has gotten wet and musty, it may be mildewed. Mildew can smell pretty bad, and you don't want that smell to linger in your home. Thoroughly removing the mildew can get rid of that musty smell once and for all. There are many ways you can get rid of the smell on your vinyl couch without ruining the material.
Step 1
Apply a natural cleaning agent to your couch using a sponge that has been dampened with water. Some effective agents to try are alcohol, white vinegar or lemon juice. Use a second sponge that has only water on it and rub the cleaning agent away, rinsing the couch clean.

Step 2
Allow the couch to dry.
Step 3
Spray the couch with disinfecting spray to make sure no germs remain behind. This should also help combat any odors left behind by mildew.
Step 4
Check to see whether the smell remains. If the mildew smell persists, try a cleaner that is made especially for vinyl couches.
Tip
If the mildew and accompanying smell won't go away even after repeated cleaning methods, you may have to get rid of the couch. Furniture that smells musty and carries mildew can be germy.
