Things You'll Need

  • Cloth

  • Mineral spirits

  • Non-abrasive soap

  • Towel

  • Emolient lotion

Soap and water are imporant tools in cleaning painting messes from your hands and brushes.

Kilz manufactures a variety of painting related products, but Kilz Original and Kilz Premium are the primary offerings on the company's product line. Kilz Original is an oil-based primer, and Kilz Premium is a water-based primer. One effective way to ensure easy cleanup of the product is to take care during application, wearing gloves if possible to protect your hands from contact. If you do manage to get Kilz primer on your hands, the removal method is dependent upon whether you used the oil- or water-based version.
