Dr. Seuss has created some of the most memorable, lovable and unusual creatures and characters in children's literature. His books have inspired the imaginations of thousands. It is easy to make your own Dr. Seuss costumes; all you need is some basic equipment and a lot of imagination.

To make great Dr. Seuss costumes, you need great fabric. Faux fur, fleece, terrycloth, felt and minky fabric in a variety of colors and animal prints all work for most Dr. Seuss character costumes. Fiberfill is important for stuffing and quilting. Boas make great furry stripes or rings around the arms or body. Tie thick ribbon into bows and use as embellishments.

Use striped leggings or stockings in bright colors can on the legs and arms.
