Jump on the zero-waste bandwagon with this clever produce bag created from an old T-shirt. Not only will you keep a worn-out garment from being thrown in a landfill but when you make one of these, you will keep hundreds of plastic produce bags from the trash heap as well. You don't even have to know how to sew to satisfy your inner earth steward and be cute at the same time.

Things You'll Need
Old T-shirt
Sharp scissors
1. Remove the sleeves, hem, and neckline
Use a sharp pair of scissors to cut off both sleeves as close to the seam as you can. Remove the hem and the neckline as close to the seam as possible.
2. Cut slits
Turn the T-shirt inside out and cut slits on the bottom of the shirt that are 1/2 inch apart. Cut through both layers.
3. Knot the strips
Tie the strips into knots along the entire bottom edge.
4. Turn the shirt
Turn the shirt right side out so the knots are on the inside bottom edge.
You are ready to load up your produce! If your bag gets dirty, just throw it in the washer and dryer for a fresh bag to use for your next shopping trip.
