  • 1 Tbsp. unsalted butter, melted

  • 2 oz. cream cheese, softened

  • 2 Tbsp. white sugar

  • 1/2 tsp. peppermint extract

  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup frozen whipped topping

  • Crushed candy canes, for topping

  • Oreo crumbs, for topping

  • Red food coloring (optional)

Instead of Oreos, feel free to use gingersnaps, sugar cookies, or even chocolate chip cookies. You can also use gluten-free Oreos to make this recipe gluten-free.

In an 8-ounce (1 cup) container or cup, combine the Oreo crumbs and melted butter. Mix until all of the crumbs are moistened.

Tip

To crush Oreos into crumbs, quickly blitz them in a food processor. You can also place them in a resealable sandwich bag and roll them with a rolling pin.

Press the crumbs into an even layer. You can use the back of a spoon or the bottom of a small measuring cup. Set aside.

2. Prepare the cream cheese mixture

In a separate bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sugar, peppermint extract, and vanilla extract. Using a fork, beat the ingredients until smooth and combined.
